Vancouver Edition Wukong Ultimate Club - Frisbee Social Activity Sunday

Select Your Levels: Green Circle — Beginner

Green Circle — Beginner
Blue Square — Recreational Player
Black Diamond — Open Run

Choose your night. Choose your trail. Come play.

Never touched a disc? Perfect. That's who this session is built for.

Wukong Ultimate has run beginner-friendly ultimate frisbee in Toronto for years, and this is our first session in Vancouver. Three hours, real coaching, hat-draft games, and dinner afterwards for whoever's in. No season commitment just show up once and see if you like it.

Sunday, September 27 — Trailhead
Winona Park Sports Field (N), 7575 Columbia Street, Vancouver
4:00–7:00 PM

Register for one night or join us for both.

🟢 Green Circle — Beginner
Never played ultimate? Thrown a disc a few times at the park? Start here. Coaches will introduce the fundamentals and get you playing in small-sided games with plenty of guidance.

🔵 Blue Square — Recreational Player
You know the basics and can throw a disc, and you’d like to improve your cutting, marking, spacing, and understanding of the game before jumping into a scrimmage.

 Black Diamond — Open Run
For experienced league and touring players who are ready to play. Organized, balanced pickup with plenty of game flow and touches.

The three trails begin separately so everyone can play and learn at the right level. We finish together, mixing players from across the trails for the final part of the night.

What to bring: Athletic clothing, running shoes or cleats suitable for turf, water, and a willingness to play. No disc and no previous ultimate experience required.

Registration: $17+HST per person, per night

What the three hours look like (Tentative)

  • 4:00 PM — Check-in, name tags, and warm-up. Come at 3:50 if you can.
  • 4:35 PM — Split coaching. New players start at "how to catch" and work through backhand, flick, and the basic rules. Experienced players run cutting and handler drills.
  • 5:10 PM — Throwing challenges, small prizes, and a water break.
  • 5:25 PM — Hat-draft games. Teams are drawn on the spot, and every team carries new players — that's a rule, not a hope.
  • 6:40 PM — Group photo at sunset, awards.

Why you'll be fine coming alone

Most people here won't know anyone either. Teams are drawn at the session, so you'll play with a dozen different people in one afternoon. Rules are explained in both English and Mandarin — ask us to slow down any time.

What's included

  • 55 minutes of structured coaching for your level
  • 75 minutes of games with rotating teams
  • Discs, pinnies, and water provided
  • Photos from the session, shared with everyone afterwards
